Your Contribution:

The organization is in search of a seasoned and proficient Principal Cybersecurity Systems Engineer. The ideal candidate will possess a wealth of expertise and practical experience in cybersecurity engineering, risk management frameworks, and secure software development lifecycle management. This position entails spearheading and overseeing accreditation initiatives, executing risk evaluations, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to uphold the utmost standards of information security across applications and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise cybersecurity protocols for applications within an agile software development framework.
  • Oversee the assessment and authorization (A&A) processes for system accreditation and reaccreditation.
  • Leverage common control provider (CCP) knowledge to secure application authorization on emerging platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure the smooth decommissioning and accreditation of replacement systems without interruptions.
  • Facilitate technical exchange meetings (TEMs) and coordinate with essential departments to support A&A efforts.
  • Monitor and manage the Plan of Action and Milestones (POAMs) across all systems, ensuring timely completion and suggesting remediation measures.
  • Conduct system self-assessments to aid initial, update, and reaccreditation processes.
  • Engage in technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and risk assessments.
  • Generate Basis of Estimate (BOE) documentation and other vital artifacts for system A&A activities.
  • Formulate and document security evaluation test plans and procedures.
  • Provide documentation and recommendations for security best practices and risk management framework (RMF) accreditation.
  • Champion application security and secure software development lifecycles, including containerization security in accordance with NIST SP.
  • Conduct practical security testing, evaluate test outcomes, and propose countermeasures.
  • Offer insights on cloud computing services, deployment architecture, and network management tools.
  • Review project specifications and assist in the formulation and monitoring of project tasks and client deliverables.
  • Engage with clients regarding project-specific activities and manage project-related outputs.
  • Facilitate process working groups to assess existing procedures and develop new business strategies.

Qualifications:

  • TSSCI w/ Poly
  • Bachelor's Degree in Security and Intelligence, or a related discipline.
  • Security+ CE, AWS Advanced Architect, and Splunk Fundamentals 1 and 2 certifications.
  • Extensive background in information system security engineering, risk assessment, and vulnerability management.
  • Strong comprehension of cloud computing services, secure software development lifecycles, and containerization security.
  • Proficient in creating and maintaining security documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Demonstrated experience in leading technical exchange meetings, managing project deliverables, and ensuring adherence to security standards and policies.
