Your Contribution:

The organization is in search of a seasoned and knowledgeable Principal Cybersecurity Systems Engineer. The ideal candidate will possess profound expertise and practical experience in cybersecurity engineering, risk management frameworks, and secure software development lifecycle management. This position requires leading and overseeing accreditation initiatives, performing risk evaluations, and collaborating with diverse teams to uphold the utmost standards of information security across applications and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • - Supervise cybersecurity protocols for applications within an agile software development environment.
    - Direct the assessment and authorization (A&A) processes for system accreditation and reaccreditation.
    - Leverage common control provider (CCP) insights to secure authorization for applications on emerging platforms.
    - Collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure smooth decommissioning and accreditation of substitute systems without any interruptions.
    - Conduct technical exchange meetings (TEMs) and coordinate with essential departments to facilitate A&A initiatives.
    - Monitor and manage Plans of Action and Milestones (POAMs) across all systems, ensuring timely completion and recommending remediation actions.
    - Execute system self-assessments to support initial, update, and reaccreditation processes.
    - Engage in technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and risk assessments.
    - Develop Basis of Estimate (BOE) documentation and other vital artifacts for system A&A initiatives.
    - Formulate and document security evaluation test plans and procedures.
    - Provide documentation and recommendations for security best practices and risk management framework (RMF) accreditation.
    - Propel application security and secure software development lifecycles, including containerization security as per NIST SP.
    - Conduct practical security testing, analyze results, and propose countermeasures.
    - Offer guidance on cloud computing services, deployment architecture, and network management tools.
    - Review project specifications and assist in the development and tracking of project tasks and client deliverables.
    - Communicate with clients regarding project-specific activities and manage project-related outputs.
    - Facilitate process working groups to assess existing processes and formulate new business strategies.

Qualifications:

  • - TSSCI w/ Poly
    - Bachelor's Degree in Security and Intelligence, or a related discipline.
    - Security+ CE, AWS Advanced Architect, and Splunk Fundamentals 1 and 2 certifications.
    - Extensive experience in information system security engineering, risk assessment, and vulnerability management.
    - Strong comprehension of cloud computing services, secure software development lifecycles, and containerization security.
    - Proficient in developing and maintaining security documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
    - Proven experience in leading technical exchange meetings, managing project deliverables, and ensuring adherence to security standards and policies.
