Position Overview

The role involves delivering specialized training sessions within the designated program, ensuring that the institution adheres to the necessary accreditation standards, as well as federal and state licensing requirements alongside all relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Instructs one or more classes that are integral to the Aviation Maintenance Technology program.
  • Maintains accurate records of student grades, attendance, and other essential documentation.
  • Implements daily lesson plans and course Study Guides, ensuring alignment with the current FAR 147 Certification Manual through collaboration with the Lead Instructor or Department head.
  • Adheres to established protocols as outlined in the FAR 147 Certification Manual.
  • Follows company policies and procedures diligently.
  • Administers and evaluates laboratory projects and theoretical examinations pertinent to the assigned instructional course.
  • Ensures proper maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Communicates supply and material needs for classes to the Lead Instructor or Department head.
  • Monitors student adherence to all established policies and procedures.
  • Provides necessary remediation for students within the standard workday.
  • Assists in efforts to retain students.
  • Maintains attendance records for students to facilitate opportunities for making up missed time as needed during the workday.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Proficient in computer use, with the ability to create and edit documents using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Capable of reading, analyzing, and interpreting various documents, including technical drawings, safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, procedural manuals, and governmental guidelines.
  • Skilled in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural documentation.
  • Adept at effectively presenting information and addressing inquiries from groups, management, staff, and students.
  • Competent in applying mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and fundamentals of geometry.
  • Ability to utilize concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions in practical scenarios.
  • Proficient in solving practical problems and managing a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Capable of interpreting diverse instructions provided in written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled formats.

Educational Background and Experience

  • High School diploma accompanied by eight (8) years of relevant field experience (or)
  • An Associate degree with four (4) years of pertinent field experience.

Certifications and Licenses

  • Possession of an FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate.

The employee must frequently lift and/or balance up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision capabilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
