Position Overview
The role entails delivering specialized training sessions within the designated program, ensuring that the institution adheres to the prevailing standards of accreditation, as well as federal and state licensing requirements, alongside all relevant national, state, and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Instructs one or more designated courses that are integral to the Aviation Maintenance Training program.
- Maintains and organizes student attendance and grading records, along with other necessary documentation.
- Adheres to and executes daily lesson plans and course study materials, ensuring alignment with the current FAR 147 Certification Manual through collaboration with the Lead Instructor or Department Head.
- Follows established protocols as outlined in the FAR 147 Certification Manual.
- Abides by the company’s policies and procedures.
- Evaluates and grades laboratory projects and theoretical examinations pertinent to the assigned instructional courses.
- Oversees the upkeep of laboratory equipment.
- Communicates supply and material needs for classes to the Lead Instructor or Department Head.
- Ensures students comply with all established policies and procedures.
- Provides necessary remediation for students during regular working hours.
- Contributes to student retention efforts.
- Maintains accurate records of attendance for missed time, ensuring students have opportunities to make up for absences as needed within a standard workday.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Proficient in computer use, with the ability to create and edit documents using Microsoft Office applications.
- Capable of reading, analyzing, and interpreting technical documents, safety regulations, operational and maintenance instructions, procedural manuals, and governmental guidelines.
- Skilled in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural documentation.
- Adept at effectively presenting information and addressing inquiries from groups, management, staff, and students.
- Competent in mathematical concepts including probability, statistical inference, and fundamentals of geometry.
- Able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to real-world scenarios.
- Proficient in solving practical problems and managing various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
- Capable of interpreting a variety of instructions presented in written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled formats.
Educational Background and Experience
- High School diploma with eight (8) years of relevant field experience (or)
- Associate degree accompanied by four (4) years of pertinent field experience.
Certifications and Licenses
- Possession of an FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate.

The employee must frequently lift and/or balance up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision capabilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
