Position Overview

The role involves delivering specialized training sessions within the designated program, ensuring that the institution adheres to the necessary accreditation standards, as well as federal and state licensing requirements, alongside all relevant national, state, and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Instructs one or more classes that form part of the Aviation Maintenance Technology curriculum.
  • Maintains and organizes student attendance and grading records along with other essential documentation.
  • Implements daily lesson plans and course study materials, ensuring alignment with the current FAR 147 Certification Manual through collaboration with the Lead Instructor or Department Head.
  • Adheres to established protocols as outlined in the FAR 147 Certification Manual.
  • Follows company policies and procedures diligently.
  • Evaluates and grades laboratory projects and theoretical examinations pertinent to the assigned instructional course.
  • Oversees the upkeep of laboratory equipment.
  • Communicates supply and material needs for classes to the Lead Instructor or Department Head.
  • Ensures students comply with all established policies and procedures.
  • Provides additional support to students as necessary during regular working hours.
  • Contributes to student retention efforts.
  • Maintains accurate records of attendance for missed classes, facilitating opportunities for students to make up for lost time as needed.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Proficient in computer usage, with the ability to create and modify documents using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Capable of reading, analyzing, and interpreting various documents, including technical drawings, safety regulations, operational and maintenance instructions, procedural manuals, and governmental guidelines.
  • Skilled in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural documentation.
  • Adept at effectively presenting information and addressing inquiries from groups, management, staff, and students.
  • Competent in applying mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and the fundamentals of geometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to real-world scenarios.
  • Proficient in solving practical problems and navigating diverse variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Capable of interpreting a variety of instructions presented in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule formats.

Educational Background and Experience

  • High School diploma with eight (8) years of relevant field experience, or
  • An Associate degree with four (4) years of relevant field experience.

Certifications and Licenses

  • Possession of an FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate is required.

Physical Requirements

While fulfilling the responsibilities of this role, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to lift, handle, or feel; communicate verbally and audibly. The employee frequently reaches with hands and arms and may occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or balance up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
