The Lead Systems Engineer is dedicated to enhancing the reliability and durability of microfluidic electrochemical sensor devices through comprehensive failure analysis, root cause investigations, and the identification and implementation of effective solutions.

This role involves significant technical contributions to long-term, intricate, and innovative projects that demand creativity, ingenuity, and specialized knowledge.

The ideal candidate is proactive in tackling challenging problems and is eager to delve into complex issues.

The selected individual will gain expertise in the operation, principles, and data analysis associated with the cutting-edge Single Molecule Sequencing platform.

Utilizing a background in systems engineering, biochemistry, electrochemistry, and/or materials science, the Lead Systems Engineer will design and conduct experiments on the sequencing platform while assisting in the development and analysis of microfluidic device surfaces, interfaces, and processes.

This engineer will evaluate and clearly present experimental findings, outlining actionable next steps related to the microfluidic device's robustness and overall system performance.

The candidate must exhibit self-motivation, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve expertise in the operation of the High Throughput Sequencing Platform.
  • Gather, manage, and assess initial evaluations for device failure issues reported by users.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively across various teams regarding root cause investigation findings and solution implementations.
  • Assist in the design, troubleshooting, and development of instruments and microfluidic devices in a dynamic setting.
  • Possess a solid understanding of statistical methodologies.
  • Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience or Master's/PhD with 3+ years in Bioengineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or Surface/Materials Science.
  • Practical troubleshooting experience in the development or operation of microfluidic sensors and/or diagnostic systems. Experience in failure analysis and defect management is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with sequencing methodologies.
  • Capability to perform statistical data analysis using software such as JMP, R, etc. Knowledge of programming languages like Python is a plus.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and exceptional record-keeping skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Self-driven and able to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
