Jackson, Mississippi, United States Amazon Full time

Amazon Security Operations Site Manager
The Security Operations Site Manager (SOSM) is a pivotal leadership role within the Amazon Security Operations Team.

If you are inquisitive and eager to redefine the traditional view of a security role in a unique environment, this position at Amazon will offer that opportunity. The SOSM spearheads the initiative to efficiently and effectively deliver security services and asset protection (including personnel, facilities, equipment, inventory, data, and intellectual property) within a designated area of oversight.

This role empowers you to conduct root cause analysis, enabling you to implement changes in your area of responsibility and across the network.

It provides you with the chance to question existing practices and propose improvements. The SOSM is dedicated to delivering exceptional service to both internal and external stakeholders, surpassing their expectations with innovative solutions.

This leader cultivates an inclusive and diverse work environment. The SOSM reports to the Regional Security Operations Manager and assists in supporting operational teams as well as collaborating with various cross-functional teams throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Enhance, monitor, and report on key performance indicators, driving performance improvements to achieve desired outcomes efficiently.

Utilize continuous improvement methodologies to enhance processes and boost efficiency.

Develop comprehensive business cases using data collection from multiple distribution centers, conducting analyses that yield strategic and tactical insights, and securing necessary approvals and resources for implementation.

Engage, mentor, and influence business partners to extend security awareness by equipping them with knowledge to identify potential security risks and guiding them on the appropriate escalation procedures.

Assist in investigations of theft and fraud, conducting interviews as necessary.

Leverage tools and data analysis in collaboration with internal partners to identify inventory discrepancies and formulate strategic plans to mitigate losses.

Inspire excellence in performance among all security team members and third-party vendors, ensuring adherence to established protocols.

Identify, advocate for, and implement best practices in security. Collaborate with internal customers to assess current and future security services, processes, and initiatives.

Recruit, hire, develop, and retain high-caliber candidates who elevate the performance standards of the security organization as needed.

Exhibit the ability to motivate team members into action through inspiration rather than coercion, effectively influencing all internal and external stakeholders.

Plan, implement, execute, and manage incident response strategies.

Address loss mitigation, physical security concerns, and potential workplace violence incidents in accordance with policy.

Travel may be required up to 25% domestically.

This role operates within a 24/7 environment, necessitating flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Work in an industrial setting that involves walking up to 5 miles daily and the capacity to lift up to 20 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodations.

A Day in the Life:
This position may involve managing a single site at a large facility or overseeing multiple locations.

The SOSM conducts and executes investigations related to theft and fraud, performing interviews as needed.

This team member will identify, advocate for, and implement security best practices at designated sites, as well as recruit, hire, develop, and retain candidates who enhance the performance standards for specific roles.

This role directly contributes to filling open security positions within the network by participating in the hiring process.

Serve as a subject matter expert for physical security and inventory control processes and technologies at designated sites.

Provide regular feedback and communication to ensure team members understand and align their performance with the vision and values of the department.

Coordinate data collection through database management and conduct analyses to inform strategic responses.

The SOSM will develop business cases for their sites, securing the necessary approvals and resources to implement desired changes.
