The Regional WHS Manager will oversee WHS initiatives across multiple locations within their jurisdiction, ensuring adherence to company safety protocols and compliance with all relevant local and regional regulations.

Utilizing lean methodologies and continuous improvement strategies, you will spearhead initiatives aimed at minimizing both conditional and ergonomic risks in our operations, thereby ensuring a safe and healthful workplace for our Associates.

A successful Regional WHS Manager will exhibit the ability to cultivate trust and confidence within the operations team, driving change through comprehensive risk assessments and thorough safety data analysis.


The Regional WHS Manager must possess strong communication skills, delivering clear, concise, and consistent messages in both verbal and written formats.

Your role will involve instructing and training operational leaders on Amazon's safety policies, as well as assisting site teams in integrating our safety standards effectively.

Additionally, you will identify best practices and incorporate these methodologies into our safety standards to enhance the overall safety framework.

The Regional WHS Manager should have a robust understanding of safety programs, environmental regulations, and ergonomic principles, demonstrating this expertise in collaboration with Operations.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of local and regional regulations alongside company policies.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance with all applicable Amazon WHS Policies.
  • Evaluate site performance against established WHS policy requirements, identifying and implementing corrective action plans for any deficiencies.
  • Deliver timely and high-quality projects to Operations.
  • Analyze WHS metrics and review incident trends to allocate resources effectively to areas with the highest safety risks.
  • Conduct regular site safety audits to identify non-compliance issues and implement solutions to mitigate risks and prevent injuries.
  • Review record-keeping practices to ensure alignment with global safety standards and local regulations.
  • Audit workplace organization and Associate behaviors to ensure accuracy and consistency in training and auditing methods.
  • Engage with delivery station teams to gather input on safety program enhancements, ensuring transparent communication regarding progress and resolutions.
  • Ensure site leadership and Associates are well-trained and knowledgeable about their responsibilities under each policy, auditing the quality and effectiveness of all required safety training.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50-70% of the time.
  • Flexibility regarding shift schedules.


For those without a valid First Aid, CPR, AED certification from recognized organizations, certification must be obtained within three weeks of employment.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or 2+ years of experience with Amazon (blue badge/FTE).
  • 3+ years of progressive responsibilities in WHS and/or environmental programs within manufacturing, production, or service operations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with comfort interfacing with site leaders.
  • Ability to formulate and implement departmental goals and strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills with proven problem-solving capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in safety management within a Distribution Center or manufacturing environment with a mix of exempt and non-exempt employees at a site with at least 250 personnel.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience in a dynamic, fast-paced organization.
  • Certification as a Safety Professional is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including the use of pivot tables and development of charts and graphics.
  • Ability to manage multiple sites remotely.
