Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the HVAC support team by planning, permitting, and scheduling installations and repairs at Concord communities.
  • Conduct interviews, select, hire, train, and supervise HVAC Lead Support Technicians. Ensure safety training and adherence to quality standards. Provide operational training and technical guidance, assisting staff in problem-solving. Assign and review work, evaluate performance, and offer coaching. Recommend and document disciplinary actions as necessary. Monitor attendance and authorize timecards. Initiate personnel actions, including promotions, transfers, and terminations. Foster positive employee/employer relations.
  • Organize the HVAC support team’s daily service calls to Concord communities and monitor the satisfactory completion of these calls.
  • Procure new equipment, parts, and materials as required.
  • Assist in developing training content and conducting classes for EPA Certification, R-410A Certification, HVAC I, and HVAC II.
  • Regularly perform service calls and installations to ensure team proficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing requirements for the State of Florida. Apply for permits and certify work, collaborating with local jurisdictions to ensure permitting is completed for new installations.

Qualifications
Knowledge and Experience:
  • A high school diploma and HVAC/maintenance training relevant to the industry are required.
  • Advanced knowledge of HVAC refrigeration recovery, rebuild procedures for various R-22 equipment, and repair, service, and installation procedures for R-22 and R-410A HVAC systems is essential, along with familiarity with mechanical codes and systems used in multifamily HVAC.
  • Ability to read schematic drawings, strong command of the English language, and effective verbal/written communication skills are necessary for developing specifications, policies, and procedures for site staff, vendors, and suppliers.
  • EPA and R-410A Certifications are required. A minimum of five years of experience in troubleshooting, charging, and performing repairs and installations on HVAC R-22 and R-410A systems, including replacing air handlers and condensers, is required.
  • At least five years of experience managing two or more direct reports and advanced knowledge of building duct systems with fiber board and flex is also required.
  • Class B Florida state certification is mandatory for this position.
