We are seeking a Billing and Collections Specialist to enhance our financial team at Parsons Hill Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.

Hourly compensation ranges from $20 to $25, with weekly payment.

As a Billing and Collections Specialist, you will support the daily financial operations of the facility in accordance with current applicable accounting principles and regulations related to long-term care, as directed by the Director of Financial Services or Administrator.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A minimum of six (6) months of experience in bookkeeping or accounting is required.
  • Experience in healthcare finance is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit a thorough understanding of all responsibilities associated with the Billing and Collections Specialist role.
  • Communicate billing matters with residents and/or responsible parties, including the Director of Finance.
  • Maintain precise and timely records and reports, including all accounts, journals, deposits, and ledgers.
  • Ensure accurate census data is kept up to date.
  • Safeguard all cash and valuables on hand, adhering to policy.
  • Apply correct safety protocols.
  • Respect and maintain facility equipment, avoiding waste of supplies.
  • Foster effective communication and a positive work environment.
  • Support and enhance resident and family relations.
  • Be knowledgeable about Privacy Practices to safeguard residents' health information.

Specific Requirements:

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language is essential.
  • Capability to make independent decisions when necessary.
  • Ability to interact tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, and government personnel.
  • Typing speed of 45 words per minute and proficiency with a 10-key calculator is required.
  • Ability to execute assigned job functions essential for assisting the Director of Financial Services in managing billing and Accounts Receivable.
  • Possess patience, tact, a cheerful demeanor, and enthusiasm, with the willingness to engage with residents and staff at various maturity levels.
  • Manage cable/phone billing upon admission and monthly thereafter.
  • Oversee and follow up on all coinsurance receivables.
  • Handle and follow up on all applied income collections.
  • Complete Medicaid redeterminations as necessary.
  • Act as a backup for the Payroll position.
  • Be knowledgeable about various payment sources and assist residents and families accordingly.
  • Be diligent in collections efforts.
