As a Behavioral Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in promoting growth and positive transformations in the lives of children through the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

This role offers a competitive starting pay of $20-23 per hour, along with comprehensive training and ongoing opportunities for career advancement and salary increases.

*Transportation for clients may be necessary, so access to a personal vehicle is required for certain cases.

Job Type: Part-time with flexible scheduling, primarily during after-school hours. Most clients are seen in the late afternoon to evening. Some earlier sessions may also be available.

Compensation: Starting at $23.00 per hour, with pay increases at 3 and 6 months. Candidates with RBT certification will receive a higher starting rate.

Apex K Home Care Inc. provides tailored ABA services in various settings, including clients' homes and community environments, for those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders. We offer ABA overview courses, hands-on training, and safety care training to equip you for success in this role and beyond.

Qualifications for the Behavioral Support Specialist role include:

  • A friendly and energetic individual who enjoys working with children.
  • Knowledge of and experience in Applied Behavior Analysis and/or psychology is advantageous.
  • Experience with individuals with special needs, particularly Autism or other developmental disabilities.
  • Willingness to attend an initial orientation session.
  • Availability to work a minimum of 10 hours per week, primarily during after-school hours.
  • Reliable transportation is essential.
  • Timeliness and organizational skills are required.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Effective communication skills across various situations.
  • Relevant experience in roles such as Teacher's Aide, Education Assistant, Child Care Worker, Tutor, Instructor, Home Care Worker, Mental Health Therapist, or Nursing Assistant is beneficial.

Key Responsibilities: The Behavioral Support Specialist will work under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and will be responsible for:

  • Collecting data
  • Implementing individualized behavior support plans
  • Executing skill acquisition programs

  • Submitting all required documentation promptly
  • Participating in monthly case review meetings with their supervisor

Required Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Required License or Certification:

  • Valid Driver's License

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 months working with children or teens
