Building Systems Technician

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts thorough evaluations of Facilities and Repair/Maintenance Service Requests to guarantee that scheduled preventative upkeep and repair tasks on facilities and production systems are executed within the designated timeframes.
  • Oversees the maintenance of all site HVAC systems along with related equipment, electrical, plumbing systems, and building management systems.
  • Performs daily inspections and rounds within the facility to identify and report any conditions that could impact site operations.
  • Coordinates and supervises Field Service or equipment maintenance Contractors while they are on-site executing work on all site systems.
  • Must possess the capability to respond to site incidents or emergencies as necessary. * This role requires 24/7 availability for Facilities and Repair/Maintenance Service Resources.
  • Compiles and updates summary reports on all conditions within the building or equipment, which may include root cause analysis or suggest action items to prevent recurring issues.
  • Takes initiative by reviewing Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Manuals to become the subject matter expert (SME) for all assigned site equipment regarding operational and service methods to ensure high-quality maintenance or repairs.
  • Prepares for unexpected facilities events by studying the site safety and infrastructure OEM manuals to become a subject matter expert (SME) for all building management systems (BMS), fire/life safety, and other related systems within the scope of site safety systems.
  • Exemplifies and adheres to all Heraeus Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) protocols and requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with Federal, City, County, and State regulations and ordinances.

Candidate Profile:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • EPA Technician Certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 to 4 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Exceptional attention to detail in work, planning, or system evaluations.
  • Practical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and infrastructural repairs and maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret Mechanical Blueprints and Electrical Schematics.
  • Strong mechanical, welding, and electrical skills.
  • Ability to foster and maintain positive working relationships with all Contractors and Heraeus Personnel.
  • Effective time management skills and punctuality in meeting targets are essential.
  • Basic Project Management experience and skills are advantageous.
