Job Overview

We are in search of a proficient Power Systems Field Technician with extensive expertise in uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), backup energy solutions, and power distribution apparatus. The ideal candidate will possess a robust technical foundation in electrical systems and electronics, alongside a dedication to providing exceptional customer support. This position entails executing technical maintenance and repairs on essential power systems while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Work under the supervision of the Service Operations Manager and other company leaders.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on both single-phase and three-phase UPS systems, in addition to power quality and distribution equipment.
  • Provide expert technical assistance and advice to clients regarding operational and maintenance concerns.
  • Deliver exemplary customer service and maintain effective communication with clients throughout technical operations.
  • Organize and oversee maintenance tasks to enhance efficiency and benefit both the client and the organization.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive service reports and documentation.
  • Maintain clear communication with team members and supervisors regarding all service activities.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience working with UPS systems, battery technologies, emergency power systems, or related electrical/electronic fields.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more leading UPS brands, either through factory or field training, is preferred, along with relevant field technician experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical instructions, safety manuals, service manuals, electrical and electronic schematics, and company procedures.
  • Strong understanding of single-phase and three-phase systems, as well as AC/DC circuit theory. Proficient in using various testing equipment.
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation schedule: 2 weeks on-call, followed by 4 weeks off, including potential night and weekend shifts. Must be prepared to provide 24/7 emergency support as necessary.
  • Openness to travel, including out-of-state trips once per month (up to 3 nights) and local travel as required.
  • An associate degree in electricity, electronics, or a related field is preferred; relevant experience may substitute for educational qualifications.
  • Clean driving record and ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to manage customer interactions with professionalism and tact.
  • Competency in documentation, timely reporting, and computer literacy.
