Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Irrigation Systems Technician to join our team at SUN LAKES HOA 2. This role is essential for ensuring the optimal operation and maintenance of our irrigation and drainage systems.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties Include:

  • Under the guidance of the Superintendent, you will manage the operation, installation, upkeep, and repair of both manual and semi-automatic irrigation systems.
  • Regularly inspect system functionality according to established schedules.
  • Install, maintain, and repair various components such as irrigation controllers, valves, sprinkler heads, and air relief valves.
  • Perform hand irrigation and supplemental watering as necessary.
  • Handle the installation and repair of irrigation control wiring and hydraulic tubing.
  • Operate and maintain pumps and their controllers effectively.
  • Lead special projects as needed.
  • Ensure proper leveling of heads, valve boxes, and other components to grade.
  • Report any issues to the Superintendent or designated supervisor.
  • Conduct daily checks for leaks and overall system performance.
  • Maintain an inventory of parts and supplies.
  • Operate utility vehicles and powered equipment safely.
  • Assist in monitoring water usage by reading meters and documenting findings.
  • Update as-built drawings to reflect changes in the irrigation system layout.
  • Manage weed and insect control within irrigation controllers.
  • Perform additional related tasks as required.
  • Provide training to other staff members on all relevant duties.
  • Possess a solid understanding of the game of golf.
Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this position include:

  • Regularly sitting and standing for extended periods.
  • Occasionally lifting and moving items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities, including close vision and color differentiation.
