About the Role

The Patient Services Representative will play a vital role in supporting our Business Office at Texas Oncology. This full-time position will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely entry of patient information, collecting and reviewing insurance information, and processing claims for payment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain and enter patient insurance, demographic, and eligibility information into the system.
  • Collect and review patient insurance information, complete insurance forms, and collect co-pays and deductibles.
  • Confirm patient insurance verification and eligibility, obtain pre-authorization of services, and assess patient financial requirements.
  • Post line items and adjustments to patient accounts, balance receipts, and reconcile daily work batches.
  • Review Explanation of Benefits (EOB) for consistency and submit files for payment.
  • Research and resolve claim delay issues, resolve patient questions and complaints, and adjust accounts as necessary.
  • Follow-up on assigned accounts, use collection techniques to keep accounts current, and set-up financial arrangements with patients.
  • Assist patients with researching and obtaining community resources, including housing, transportation, and financial resources.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 0-3 years of medical business office experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of medical business office experience for Level 2.
  • Minimum 5 years of medical business office experience for Level Sr.
Work Environment

The work environment requires frequent interaction with patients and staff. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
