Job Overview

Turner & Townsend is seeking a seasoned Senior Mechanical Estimator to lead a portfolio of high-profile, large-scale mission-critical, commercial real estate, and infrastructure projects for key clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and present comprehensive cost plans, including estimating and cost planning.
  • Estimate at conceptual, programming, and detailed levels, ensuring accuracy and precision.
  • Contribute to feasibility studies and write procurement reports, providing valuable insights to clients.
  • Manage all aspects of procurement, including pre-qualification, bid analysis, and contractual document preparation.
  • Collaborate with clients and other consultants to ensure timely and accurate cost checking and valuation processes.
  • Produce monthly post-contract cost reports and present to clients, providing transparency and accountability.
  • Provide input into value engineering, negotiate, and approve final accounts, ensuring optimal project outcomes.
  • Maintain effective liaison with clients and other consultants throughout project stages.
  • Lead the cost management team, ensuring delivery of accountabilities and identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Develop new business opportunities with existing clients, reporting to line managers and utilizing marketing databases.
  • Identify and propose improvements to cost management procedures, templates, and products, referring ideas to line managers.
Requirements
  • Proven technical expertise in all cost management areas, including pre-contract, post-contract, and final account.
  • Excellent presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD Navisworks, and/or other related computer software.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Good knowledge of all methods of construction procurement and experience with advising clients on value management, value engineering, and life cycle costing.
  • Experience with key aspects of business development and a good understanding of mechanical and plumbing systems.
Education/Experience
  • Experience preparing mechanical cost estimates for complex construction projects.
  • Experience managing mechanical or MEP estimates on large-scale data center, high-tech, manufacturing, commercial real estate, or relatable construction projects is advantageous.
  • Good understanding of all mechanical aspects as they relate to construction projects.
Compensation

The salary range for this full-time role is $140K-$165K per year, reflecting a base salary only. Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less, depending on candidate experience and qualifications.
