Position SummaryTurner & Townsend is seeking a skilled Senior MEP Estimator to effectively meet client objectives through a comprehensive cost management service.
The MEP Estimator will be tasked with delivering mechanical and/or electrical estimates and cost consulting for a diverse range of large-scale construction programs, catering to key sectors such as Real Estate, Data Centers, High-Tech & Manufacturing, Life Sciences, and Infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and present detailed cost plans and estimates.
- Conduct estimates at various stages, including conceptual, programming, and detailed levels.
- Assist in feasibility studies and the preparation of procurement reports.
- Oversee all procurement aspects, including managing pre-qualification, creating bid lists, analyzing bids, and compiling contractual documents.
- Engage in post-contract cost variance analysis and change control processes, escalating significant changes to management as necessary.
- Conduct cost checks and valuations on larger projects, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in the cost checking and valuation processes.
- Prepare and present monthly post-contract cost reports to clients.
- Contribute to value engineering initiatives and negotiate final accounts.
- Maintain effective communication with clients and other consultants throughout all project phases.
- Provide leadership to the cost management team as needed, ensuring accountability in all areas of responsibility.
- Identify opportunities for business development with existing clients and report these to the appropriate management level.
- Propose enhancements to cost management procedures, templates, and products for consideration by management.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management with a Technical Focus, Quantity Surveying, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience in construction, specifically with mechanical and/or electrical systems.
- Strong technical background in all areas of cost management, including pre-contract, post-contract, and final account processes.
- Experience in managing and mentoring team members.
- Excellent presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and other relevant software.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively within a team.
- In-depth knowledge of various construction procurement methods.
- Experience advising clients on value management, value engineering, and life cycle costing.
- Broad knowledge and experience across multiple industry sectors.
Salary Range: The salary for this full-time position ranges from $140K to $165K annually, determined by role and level, reflecting a commitment to fair and equitable compensation based on experience and qualifications.
