Job Overview
This role involves providing proficient Mechanical Engineering assistance to Technical Operations at Cobec Consulting.
Experience Requirements
The candidate should possess a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering, with a preference for experience in technical operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop necessary plans, drawings, and specifications utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Prepare cost estimates and conduct design analysis.
- Deliver expert mechanical design solutions, documentation, and support for various projects.
- Assess design objectives and perform intricate technical calculations.
- Oversee project timelines from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to deadlines.
- Conduct economic evaluations to assess the viability of renovation versus new construction projects.
- Plan and supervise engineering projects to ensure compliance with standards and requirements.
- Examine existing mechanical systems and recommend improvements.
- Review contractor/manufacturer shop drawings and equipment submissions for compliance with contract specifications.
- Evaluate construction projects for quality assurance and adherence to building codes.
- Negotiate modifications to contracts as necessary.
- Review construction agreements to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Educational Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required. A Master's degree is advantageous and may be considered as additional experience.
Skills Required
The ideal candidate should be adaptable to a dynamic work environment and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously. Key skills include:
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling, particularly with SolidWorks.
- Basic understanding of electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Strong analytical and technical writing capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with senior personnel on technical matters.
Security Requirements
Must be a US citizen or a legal resident for three of the past five years and meet eligibility criteria for a US Public Trust security clearance.
Travel
Occasional travel may be required based on client needs.
