Non-Credit Adjunct Instructors are tasked with delivering instruction, guidance, evaluation, and mentorship to non-credit students. They are expected to engage fully in the college's mission and community. The primary focus will be on teaching, facilitating learning experiences in various settings including classrooms, labs, clinical environments, and online platforms, thereby helping students cultivate their skills and interests to their fullest potential.

Teaching Responsibilities: This part-time Non-Credit Adjunct Instructor role is contracted on a course-by-course basis, with a maximum of 1500 contracted hours annually. Responsibilities may encompass a mix of direct teaching hours, preparation, curriculum development, student advising, and assessment of student assignments. Schedules may vary, including day, evening, weekend, and online classes, depending on course offerings and instructor availability.

Workforce development initiatives emphasize industry certification and skill enhancement. While teaching experience is beneficial, it is not mandatory. Relevant professional experience and certifications are essential. Our learners expect to gain insights from experienced professionals who can impart their knowledge and practical expertise. Students may range from beginners to those with some training or experienced technicians pursuing credentials. Instruction is primarily conducted in-person, with occasional hybrid formats as necessary. Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent. Significant experience in the welding field. Specialized Knowledge: Proficiency in welding fillet welds in all positions using SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW techniques. Expertise in groove welds with and without backing plates using various welding processes. Familiarity with open-root pipe welding using SMAW and GTAW. Competence in operating Oxyacetylene Welding and Cutting and Plasma Cutting equipment. Understanding of weld joint geometry and welding terminology. Knowledge of basic welding drawings and symbols. Skills: Strong oral and written communication abilities. Proven teaching and educational facilitation skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, adaptability, and a customer service mindset. Proficient in computer applications. Abilities: Capability to apply welding principles to practical scenarios. Skill in evaluating learner performance and providing constructive feedback. Ability to align learner outcomes with course objectives. Capacity to address the needs of diverse student populations. Proficiency in organizing instruction to optimize student learning. Competence in managing a classroom environment effectively. Ability to foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills among students. Commitment to maintaining educational quality standards. Proficiency in maintaining accurate educational records. Ability to adapt to evolving educational standards and trends. Familiarity with Email (Outlook), Microsoft Word, and Excel. Preferred Qualifications:

AWS Welder Certifications in SMAW/GTAW Pipe AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Previous teaching or training experience in a community or technical college setting.
