Adjunct Faculty Pooled Position – Strategic Management Expert

Position Summary

The Raymond A. Mason School of Business at William & Mary is seeking a pool of adjunct faculty to teach one or more undergraduate/graduate courses in Strategic Management. Key Responsibilities

  • Review and develop course content, activities, assignments, and assessments to ensure alignment with academic standards and business best practices.
  • Prepare a comprehensive syllabus, working closely with the Department Chair and/or lead instructor to ensure a cohesive learning experience.
  • Coordinate course activities with the Department Chair, lead instructor, and Associate Dean as necessary to ensure a smooth and effective learning environment.
  • Promote inclusive excellence and academic integrity, upholding the highest standards of professionalism and ethics.
  • Support student learning through the use of our learning management system, providing timely and specific feedback to ensure student success.
  • Support documented student accommodations, ensuring equal access to education for all students.
  • Meet all designated course instruction guidelines and adhere to academic credit hour policies and guidelines.
  • Maintain frequent and open communication with the Department Chair, other faculty, and staff through email, mail, and other mediums as necessary.
  • Provide students with timely and specific feedback, responding to inquiries within 24 hours.
  • Grade assignments and exams in a timely manner (48-72 hours), ensuring accuracy and fairness.
  • Offer weekly office hours for individual or group consultation, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Submit final grades according to William & Mary policy and individual program calendars.
  • Submit end-of-semester feedback and reflection forms, contributing to ongoing improvement and development.
  • Complete all required training and orientation activities prior to the term start date, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of our academic policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree directly related to the discipline, with a strong foundation in strategic management and business principles.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to incorporate technology in education processes, leveraging our learning management system to enhance the learning experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or other doctoral degree directly related to the discipline, with expertise in strategic management and business.
  • Relevant professional experience in a closely related field, with a strong track record of teaching and mentoring.
  • Computer proficiency and experience using Blackboard or a similar learning management system, with the ability to adapt to new technologies.
