Non-Credit Adjunct Instructors are essential in delivering instruction, guidance, evaluation, and mentorship to non-credit learners. Instructors are expected to actively engage in the mission and community of the educational institution. The primary focus will be on teaching, facilitating learning experiences in various settings such as classrooms, workshops, practical sites, and online platforms to help participants maximize their skills and interests.

Teaching Responsibilities: This part-time Non-Credit Adjunct Instructor role is contracted on a course-by-course basis, with a maximum of 1500 contracted hours annually. Contracts may encompass a blend of teaching hours, preparation activities, curriculum development, participant advising, and assessment of assignments. Teaching schedules may include a mix of daytime, evening, weekend, and online classes based on course requirements and instructor availability.

Workforce development initiatives prioritize the attainment of industry-recognized credentials and skill enhancement. While teaching experience is beneficial, it is not mandatory. Professional experience and relevant certifications are crucial. Our learners expect to gain insights from experienced professionals who can impart their knowledge and practical experience in the field. Participants may range from beginners to seasoned technicians seeking further credentials. Instruction is primarily in-person, though hybrid formats may be utilized when necessary. Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent. Extensive professional experience in carpentry or the construction industry. Specialized Knowledge: Familiarity with building materials and fasteners. Understanding of construction plans and specifications. Proficiency with carpentry tools and safety practices. Knowledge of structural systems including floors, walls, and roofs. Awareness of building envelope systems such as windows, doors, and siding. Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities. Proven teaching and educational facilitation capabilities. Excellent interpersonal skills, adaptability, and customer service focus. Competence in using computer applications. Abilities: Capacity to evaluate learner performance and provide constructive feedback. Ability to align learner outcomes with course objectives. Skill in addressing the needs of diverse student populations. Capability to organize and plan instruction to optimize student learning. Proficiency in managing a classroom environment effectively. Ability to foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills among participants. Commitment to maintaining educational quality standards. Competence in keeping accurate educational records. Flexibility to adapt to local needs and industry trends. Proficiency in using email and Microsoft Office applications. Preferred Qualifications:

NCCER Carpentry Certification Previous teaching or training experience in a community or technical college environment.
