Position Overview

ASRC Federal Communications is dedicated to supporting the United States Air Force, specifically the Pacific Air Forces (PACAF), which ensures unparalleled air, space, and cyberspace capabilities for national stability and security. Our dedicated teams of operational, maintenance, and service professionals are integral to daily operations across the Pacific region.

The Environmental Management Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting the ISS2 Environmental Program Manager by applying expertise in environmental regulations and health and safety standards. This role encompasses the development, execution, management, and inspection of environmental programs at various operational sites.

This position is primarily based in Anchorage, Alaska, at the Program Headquarters (PHQ). However, for candidates residing outside of Anchorage, remote work options are available. This role requires significant time spent at mission support locations throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the formulation, execution, and maintenance of a comprehensive Environmental Program tailored to operational needs.
  • Assist management in creating, monitoring, and implementing procedures to ensure safe and compliant facility operations.
  • Oversee and evaluate all facility compliance initiatives, addressing issues and reporting results.
  • Develop an environmental program that facilitates the sharing of processes, findings, and improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct environmental assessments to verify compliance with regulations.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of environmental audits and inspections.
  • Compile and submit environmental documentation to relevant government entities.
  • Review and coordinate responses to compliance reports.
  • Validate audit findings and ensure corrective measures are enacted.
  • Perform various environmental program functions as required.
  • Ensure the effectiveness of environmental procedures and update them as necessary.
  • Familiarize with all necessary technical orders, directives, and required submissions.
  • Manage notifications to regulatory bodies as required.
  • Provide metrics and trend analysis data upon request.
  • Coordinate training initiatives to address identified skill gaps.
  • Ensure adherence to environmental programs and procedures.
  • Verify compliance with environmental policies.
  • Implement training programs for staff.
  • Develop monitoring strategies for waste management and water discharge.
  • Maintain accurate records of facility operations.
  • Conduct environmental inspections and rectify any deficiencies.
  • Act as the primary contact for communication and reporting.
  • Maintain an organized filing system for environmental documentation.
  • Report incidents and testing activities to relevant personnel.
  • Compile detailed reports for incidents.
  • Engage in corporate communication calls.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Exhibit a strong work ethic and sound judgment.
  • Effectively prioritize tasks and manage stress.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to enhance site morale.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental compliance.
  • Thorough knowledge of environmental regulations.
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for project support.
  • Ability to work remotely when not traveling.
  • Commitment to obtaining necessary licenses.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

Preferred

  • Certifications in relevant environmental disciplines.
