Overview

Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Planning Analyst to be part of our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing resource management planning initiatives and conducting thorough analyses in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary coordinator for NEPA and land use planning documentation, ensuring the preparation and monitoring of annual work plans.
- Collaborate with management to facilitate meaningful public engagement in land use planning processes.
- Review and validate all planning and NEPA documents for accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Oversee all Resource Management Plan (RMP) activities, ensuring that documentation adheres to quality standards and federal regulations, including the Federal Land Policy and Management Act (FLPMA) and Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) guidelines.
- Provide expert guidance, leadership, and training in the development of significant planning initiatives and their associated NEPA documentation for various offices.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, candidates must demonstrate their relevant experience and education in their application materials.

For GS-11 Level:
Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level, which may include:
1. Interpreting NEPA laws and regulations.
2. Collaborating on interdisciplinary teams.
3. Reviewing NEPA documents for clarity and defensibility.
4. Ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
5. Maintaining project documentation and administrative records.

OR Education:
Possession of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or three years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.

OR Combination of Education and Experience:
A combination of specialized experience and relevant undergraduate education may also qualify.

For GS-12 Level:
Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level, which may include:
1. Managing land use planning and NEPA compliance.
2. Working on interdisciplinary teams focused on environmental analysis.
3. Reviewing planning and NEPA documents for quality and compliance.
4. Maintaining comprehensive project reports and records.
