Position Summary
The Retail Loan Servicing Specialist role encompasses a range of responsibilities related to the management and processing of consumer and residential loan servicing operations. This position necessitates specialized expertise and experience in consumer and residential loan servicing, including familiarity with lending regulations and specific expectations set forth by the bank and department regarding established servicing policies and procedures. The Servicing Specialist will assist the loan servicing team as needed and perform additional tasks as assigned. The incumbent will deliver customer support to both external and internal clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Retail Loan Servicing management to ensure optimal servicing support for both internal and external clients, aligning with departmental goals efficiently and effectively.
  • Conduct maintenance and research on consumer and mortgage loan products within various loan processing systems.
  • Reconcile and balance multiple general ledgers and suspense accounts related to loan servicing requirements.
  • Work alongside other business units to meet regulatory compliance and customer support objectives.
  • Take initiative in resolving issues and perform thorough analytical reviews to address problems promptly while maintaining high standards of customer service.
  • Document, record, and release collateral associated with consumer and mortgage loan packages as necessary.
  • Respond to inquiries via phone and manage various loan servicing mailboxes within established service level agreements.
  • Process payments and fulfill payoff requests from internal and external clients.
  • Analyze reports, document findings, and present results to management or other groups as required.
  • Onboard and document new loans as necessary.
  • Execute Quality Assurance functions as directed by management to ensure proper oversight of loan onboarding and closing processes.
  • Engage with internal and external partners, including audit and compliance teams, to ensure regulatory and loan servicing responsibilities are met.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience in a high-volume loan servicing environment is preferred.
  • Prior experience in monetary, transactional, or loan product servicing is essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and effective follow-through are necessary.
  • Basic knowledge of lending terms and regulations applicable to various servicing scenarios is required.
  • Strong analytical abilities are essential.
  • Good listening skills with the capacity to research, document, and articulate findings are required.
  • Practical knowledge of commonly used concepts and practices within a loan servicing environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with bank loan products and services, as well as accounting practices, is advantageous.
  • Experience with current loan servicing systems and applications is preferred.
  • Ability to review and interpret loan documentation from a quality control perspective is essential.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is necessary.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment is essential.
