Position Summary
The Retail Loan Servicing Specialist role encompasses a range of responsibilities related to the management and processing of consumer and residential loan servicing operations. This position demands specialized expertise in Consumer and Residential loan servicing, including knowledge of lending regulations and adherence to established servicing policies and procedures. The Specialist will support the loan servicing team as needed and perform additional tasks as assigned. The role also involves providing customer support to both external and internal clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Retail Loan Servicing management to ensure that both internal and external customers receive appropriate servicing support, aligning with departmental goals efficiently.
  • Conduct maintenance and research on consumer and mortgage loan products within various loan processing systems.
  • Reconcile and balance multiple general ledgers and suspense accounts related to loan servicing requirements.
  • Work alongside other business units to meet regulatory compliance and customer service expectations.
  • Address various issues and challenges as they arise, performing thorough analytical reviews and research to resolve them promptly while maintaining high standards of customer service.
  • Document, record, and release collateral associated with consumer and mortgage loan packages as necessary.
  • Respond to inquiries via phone and various loan servicing communication channels within established service level agreements.
  • Process payments and fulfill payoff requests from internal and external clients.
  • Analyze reports, document findings, and present results to management or audit teams as required.
  • Onboard and document new loans as needed.
  • Perform Quality Assurance functions as directed by management to ensure proper oversight of loan onboarding and closing processes.
  • Engage with internal and external partners, including audit and compliance teams, to ensure adherence to regulatory and servicing responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience in a high-volume loan servicing environment is preferred.
  • Prior experience in monetary, transactional, or loan product servicing is essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through are necessary.
  • Basic understanding of lending terms and regulations applicable to various servicing scenarios is required.
  • Strong analytical skills are essential.
  • Effective listening skills with the ability to research, document, and articulate findings are required.
  • Practical knowledge of common concepts and practices within a loan servicing environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with bank loan products, accounting, and exception processing practices is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of current loan servicing systems and applications is preferred.
  • Ability to review and interpret loan documentation from a quality control perspective is necessary.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is essential.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment is required.
