Job Purpose:
The Retail General Manager is responsible for overseeing sales performance, guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, recruitment, and talent development within their store. This role requires strong leadership and strategic direction to create an environment that surpasses guest expectations, ensuring maximum productivity, profitability, and sales outcomes. The Retail General Manager must possess a clear understanding of company objectives and processes, demonstrating the ability to execute these responsibilities effectively.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Achieving and exceeding sales targets for the store.
  • Driving company sales growth and profitability through effective selling techniques, teamwork, in-depth product knowledge, and outstanding guest service.
  • Implementing proactive product selling and sampling strategies in-store and at sampling stations throughout the day.
  • Fostering a guest-centric culture that prioritizes the guest experience while meeting sales goals.
  • Managing mystery shopping and NPS programs to ensure a memorable guest experience.
  • Leading teams of hourly employees, including hiring, training, coaching, evaluating, and retaining talent.
  • Conducting business analysis and gathering guest insights to identify and address areas for improvement.
  • Overseeing the store's financial performance, KPIs, and inventory management.
  • Managing labor costs effectively, including scheduling and overtime.
  • Utilizing financial tools to proactively identify opportunities for enhancing in-store performance.
  • Ensuring operational excellence, cleanliness, and compliance with food safety standards.
  • Maintaining a flexible schedule that aligns with guest needs and business operations, including weekends and evenings.
  • Ensuring compliance with federal and local safety regulations, including food safety and labor laws.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a manager in a retail or restaurant environment, leading a team of at least 15 individuals.
  • A strong interest in health, fitness, and wellness.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with guests and deliver exceptional service.
  • Ability to adapt to new procedures and priorities, demonstrating sound judgment in decision-making.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong understanding of sales principles, KPI metrics, and guest service practices.
  • Preferred: NYC Food Handler Card at the time of hire.
  • Experience managing profit and loss statements or similar financial reports.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office applications: Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
