Job Purpose:

The Retail General Manager is responsible for overseeing sales performance, guest experience, operational efficiency, hiring, and talent development within the store. This role requires strong leadership and strategic direction to create an environment that exceeds guest expectations both in-store and online, while maximizing productivity and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Achieve and surpass sales targets for the store.
  • Drive company sales growth and profitability through effective selling, teamwork, and exceptional guest service.
  • Engage in active product selling and sampling throughout the day.
  • Foster a culture focused on guest satisfaction and sales achievement.
  • Oversee guest experience programs to ensure memorable interactions.
  • Manage and develop a team of hourly employees through coaching and evaluation.
  • Analyze business reports and guest feedback to identify areas for improvement.
  • Manage the store's financial performance, including P&L and inventory.
  • Control labor costs through effective scheduling and management.
  • Utilize financial tools to enhance in-store performance.
  • Ensure operational excellence, cleanliness, and compliance with safety standards.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule to meet business and guest needs.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a managerial role within retail or food service, leading a team of at least 15 members.
  • Interest and knowledge in health, fitness, and wellness.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and deliver outstanding service.
  • Adaptability to new processes and the ability to mediate conflicts.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of sales principles and guest service practices.
  • Preferred: NYC Food Handler Card at the time of hire.
  • Experience managing a profit and loss statement.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office applications.
