Organization Overview

The Construction Industry Education Foundation (CIEF) is dedicated to attracting, educating, and motivating the future professionals in design, construction, and trades. In response to the increasing labor shortage in our sector, CIEF is expanding its programs across various states.

Position Summary

This role, situated in Sacramento and reporting to the Director of National Youth Programs, requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual. The incumbent will oversee high school workforce initiatives, including the Design Build Competition, CREATE Competition, Trades Days, Scholarships, and CIEF Summer Camp programs.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Plan, organize, support, and assess workforce development and scholarship initiatives.
  • Oversee established program budgets in collaboration with the Director of National Youth Programs.
  • Manage chapter boards, program committees, and advisory boards, along with program specifics, sponsors, volunteers, and materials as necessary, while providing assistance to the regional Board of Directors.
  • Engage with the construction sector to enhance visibility and bolster CIEF's workforce initiatives, including attending industry events and promoting the CIEF brand throughout Northern California.
  • Lead fundraising activities for programs through outreach to sponsors and relationship cultivation with both new and existing partners.
  • Facilitate the expansion of Youth Programs from the Sacramento Office.
  • Compile program statistics for grant funding and development reports.
  • Establish connections with local educational institutions by participating in advisory board meetings and events.
  • Provide logistical support for Northern California Chapter Events, such as Golf Tournaments, Clay Shoots, Crab Feeds, etc.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Familiarity with non-profit organizations.
  • Experience in program management.
  • Background in the construction industry is highly desirable, though not mandatory.
  • Knowledge and experience in sponsorship solicitation and management.
  • Exceptional time-management and organizational capabilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking proficiency.
  • Understanding of working with boards, committees, and volunteers.
  • Willingness to travel on short notice and occasionally overnight.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Experience with AMS/CRM systems and Microsoft Suite is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 40 pounds.

This is a full-time position that includes supplemental benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and a 401k savings plan. A valid California Driver License and proof of auto insurance are required.
