Role Summary

The Youth Program Facilitator plays a crucial role in delivering engaging educational content to students. This position involves training on our comprehensive STEAM and social-emotional learning curriculum. Facilitators are expected to embrace personal and professional development, practice effective classroom management, and most importantly, create a fun and dynamic learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Approach educational activities with enthusiasm and foster positive relationships with students.
  • Adapt and enhance curriculum materials to suit the needs of the group.
  • Engage with parents in a professional and lively manner.
  • Encourage healthy self-esteem and a genuine passion for learning among students.
  • Manage supply inventory, preparation, and cleanup of materials.
  • Maintain accurate records, including attendance, class notes, and incident reports.
  • Lead organized recreational activities that promote teamwork and physical engagement.
  • Participate in staff meetings and ongoing professional development.
  • Ensure a safe and positive environment for all students.
  • Exemplify the core values of Edventure More, demonstrating social-emotional learning skills such as empathy, responsibility, initiative, collaboration, problem-solving, and emotional regulation.

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Site Director or Site Assistant

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Prior experience working with groups of children is preferred.
  • Willingness to complete any necessary assessments related to the position.
  • Three positive references from previous employers or colleagues.
  • Completion of background checks as required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in facilitating youth programs or working with children.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and reliability.
  • Enthusiastic and charismatic personality.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Creative, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple tasks.
  • Patience and a positive attitude in problem-solving situations.
  • Experience in classroom management and teaching is highly valued.
  • Relevant educational background or experience in related fields is a plus.

Specialized Knowledge:

  • Background in science, including biology, chemistry, or physics.
  • Basic laboratory skills.
  • Engineering knowledge.
  • Possession of costumes or creative performance skills is an advantage.
  • Teaching credentials or progress towards such credentials is a significant benefit.
