Role Summary
The Youth Program Facilitator plays a crucial role in delivering engaging educational content to students. This position involves training on our comprehensive STEAM and social-emotional learning curriculum. Facilitators are expected to embrace personal and professional development, practice effective classroom management, and most importantly, create a fun and dynamic learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Approach educational activities with enthusiasm and foster positive relationships with students.
- Adapt and enhance curriculum materials to suit the needs of the group.
- Engage with parents in a professional and lively manner.
- Encourage healthy self-esteem and a genuine passion for learning among students.
- Manage supply inventory, preparation, and cleanup of materials.
- Maintain accurate records, including attendance, class notes, and incident reports.
- Lead organized recreational activities that promote teamwork and physical engagement.
- Participate in staff meetings and ongoing professional development.
- Ensure a safe and positive environment for all students.
- Exemplify the core values of Edventure More, demonstrating social-emotional learning skills such as empathy, responsibility, initiative, collaboration, problem-solving, and emotional regulation.
Reporting Structure: Reports to the Site Director or Site Assistant
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Prior experience working with groups of children is preferred.
- Willingness to complete any necessary assessments related to the position.
- Three positive references from previous employers or colleagues.
- Completion of background checks as required.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in facilitating youth programs or working with children.
- Strong sense of responsibility and reliability.
- Enthusiastic and charismatic personality.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Creative, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple tasks.
- Patience and a positive attitude in problem-solving situations.
- Experience in classroom management and teaching is highly valued.
- Relevant educational background or experience in related fields is a plus.
Specialized Knowledge:
- Background in science, including biology, chemistry, or physics.
- Basic laboratory skills.
- Engineering knowledge.
- Possession of costumes or creative performance skills is an advantage.
- Teaching credentials or progress towards such credentials is a significant benefit.
