Cedarhurst, a regional healthcare provider dedicated to serving older adults, is seeking a committed and service-oriented individual to join our team as a full-time Facilities Operations Manager.


In this pivotal role, you will have the chance to engage with our residents and make a meaningful difference in their daily lives. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure a secure and well-maintained living environment by overseeing and executing quality maintenance tasks, ensuring that both the interior and exterior of the community, including the grounds, are kept to the highest standards.


As the Facilities Operations Manager, you will collaborate closely with the community's Executive Director and the entire management team to foster a pleasant and safe living experience for our residents.


Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing maintenance of all indoor areas, including offices, which encompasses tasks such as carpet cleaning, window washing, and vinyl floor maintenance and replacement.
  • Managing outdoor areas, including building repairs and lawn upkeep, in partnership with landscaping contractors and waste management services.
  • Assisting in the development and documentation of preventative maintenance programs for facilities and equipment.
  • Supervising housekeeping staff as necessary to meet community needs.
  • Preparing and refurbishing apartments for new residents, which includes painting, carpet installation, and ceiling fan setup.
  • Maintaining fire safety and emergency records in compliance with regulations, as well as managing material safety data sheets (MSDS).
  • Conducting inspections of resident apartments to identify potential issues and hazards, and reporting findings to the Supervisor for follow-up.
  • Scheduling and performing preventative maintenance while keeping quality assurance records current for the physical plant.
  • Carrying out janitorial duties, including maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities.
  • Overseeing additional maintenance staff and housekeeping personnel as required.
  • Completing other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director or the leadership team.


To qualify for the Facilities Operations Manager position, you will need:

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience or accredited maintenance training.
  • Applicable state licensure, as required.
  • Knowledge of carpentry, including drywall repair, painting, light plumbing, and preventative maintenance.
  • Basic technical skills and mechanical aptitude to perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical and electrical systems, along with a foundational understanding of construction principles.
  • A genuine passion for working with older adults.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others, while also demonstrating initiative and a commitment to meeting resident needs.
  • Flexibility to work weekends as needed and be available for on-call duties after hours.
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • The physical capability to meet the demands of the role, including the ability to see, speak, touch, walk, stand, bend, reach overhead, crouch, kneel, or crawl, and the ability to lift/move up to 50lbs independently and up to 100lbs with assistance.
