Job Overview

Summary:

The Facility Operations Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of commercial and institutional facilities. This role involves a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for all occupants.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist the Facility Manager with scheduling and administrative tasks.
2. Perform cleaning duties in various areas including rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms.
3. Maintain carpets, rugs, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
4. Lift and move furniture, such as chairs (approximately 20-25 lbs) and tables (approximately 40 lbs).
5. Handle and transport cleaning chemicals (5-gallon buckets weighing approximately 40+ lbs).
6. Operate various cleaning equipment, including burnishers, scrubbers, and pressure washers.
7. Utilize ManLift or ScissorLift machinery for high cleaning tasks.
8. Clean windows, door panels, and sills.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates should meet the following requirements:

- Prior experience in janitorial or housekeeping services is preferred.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Proficient in writing simple correspondence and effectively presenting information in small group settings.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and understand measurements related to American currency and weight.
- Reasoning Skills: Ability to apply common sense to follow simple instructions and handle standardized situations.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer skills are desirable but not mandatory.
- Certificates and Licenses: No specific certifications are required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position includes supervising shift responsibilities and addressing employee-related issues.

Work Environment:

The work environment may involve exposure to high places and airborne particles. The noise level is typically loud.

Physical Demands:

Employees in this role are regularly required to stand, walk, use hands for handling tasks, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and communicate effectively. Frequent lifting and moving of up to 50 pounds is required, along with specific vision abilities including close vision and distance vision.
