Position Overview:

As a Geotechnical Engineering Specialist, you will provide essential engineering and consulting services across a diverse range of projects and clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct and lead field investigations, engineering assessments, calculations, and provide recommendations.
  • Design and develop comprehensive plans and specifications, ensuring adherence to established standards.
  • Oversee the review of drawings and construction to confirm compliance with project specifications.
  • Prepare detailed proposals and cost estimates, while monitoring project progress and budgets.
  • Research and troubleshoot design and construction challenges.
  • Evaluate laboratory or field data for incorporation into reports.
  • Utilize sound engineering principles to effectively communicate complex issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Deliver services for projects in various sectors including public works, transportation, commercial, communications, energy, and industrial.

Essential Duties:
  • Adhere to safety protocols and standards for all assignments.
  • Participate in pre-task planning and report any safety concerns to management.
  • Maintain high-quality standards across all projects.
  • Manage and execute smaller projects with minimal complexity.
  • Assist in defining the scope of work for routine projects.
  • Support the preparation of cost estimates, specifications, and other project-related documentation.
  • Analyze data and perform engineering calculations for Professional Engineer review.
  • Coordinate or supervise field investigations and laboratory testing.
  • Develop and manage project plans and schedules, ensuring timely execution of project phases.
  • Collaborate closely with senior project managers and Professional Engineers to gain valuable project management experience.
  • Make design recommendations for review by the Professional Engineer of Record.
  • Prepare work scopes, proposals, and reports, and plan investigations for senior professional approval.
  • May supervise field staff, including graduate engineers and laboratory personnel.
  • Engage with clients and project teams to develop service scopes and communicate project status.
  • Work under the guidance of a Professional Engineer.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Master's degree in Engineering is preferred.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI) certification is required.
  • A valid driver's license with an acceptable violation history.
