Patient Access Liaison

Amgen is seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Liaison to join our team. As a Patient Access Liaison, you will play a critical role in ensuring patients have access to our life-changing treatments.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide logistical and non-medical educational assistance to patients and caregivers
- Develop relationships with patients and caregivers through phone, text, email, virtual, or in-person connections
- Assess individual patient needs and develop education and resource plans to empower patients to become their own advocates
- Secure written or electronic HIPAA consent for patients in the assigned geography
- Collaborate with internal teams to facilitate and improve patient access to insurance, medications, financial support, and resources
- Doctorate degree and 2 years of patient services, reimbursement, medical affairs, or account management experience
- Master's degree and 4 years of patient services, reimbursement, medical affairs, or account management experience
- Bachelor's degree and 6 years of patient services, reimbursement, medical affairs, or account management experience
- Scientific background and ability to learn product and disease information
- Nursing or other clinical background preferred
- Orphan or Rare disease experience
- Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines and FDA requirements
- Ability to handle difficult patient cases and resolve hurdles
- Ability to work in a team environment and manage communication with case Liaisons and sales reps
- Ability to respond immediately to prevent lapses in treatment
- Strong analytical skills and ability to report on meaningful activity in the region
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Professional, proactive demeanor
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability and willingness to conduct field travel and travel to company meetings, client sites, etc.
