Position SummaryA Key Account Manager plays a vital role in expanding and nurturing key client relationships within the Lexington, VA sales region. This position encompasses team leadership, effective customer communication, trial planning, and the identification of new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee account representatives, support engineers, and technicians.
- Manage safety initiatives and customer site technical sales and service personnel.
- Monitor and document treatment program performance while facilitating overall customer meetings and communicating business expectations and outcomes.
- Cultivate and strengthen business relationships with customers.
- Achieve sales targets, gross profit goals, and maintain a favorable product mix while delivering value and savings to clients.
- Collaborate closely with the District Manager to continuously evaluate personnel and develop a sales team strategy through the Performance Development Review (PDR) process.
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (Science or other technical disciplines preferred). Consideration will be given to experience in lieu of a technical degree.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the industry (preferably in pulp and paper or water treatment).
- Proven track record of resolving complex and non-routine technical challenges.
- Experience in managing complex projects.
- Strong relationship management capabilities.
- Ability to learn new concepts and technologies and apply them effectively.
- Capacity to work independently and guide indirect reports.
