Position Overview

As the Head of Audio-Visual Operations, you will oversee the daily functions and execution of the Events Production & Staging team. Your role will encompass strategic planning, reporting, and staff management to guarantee exceptional client service and satisfaction. You will supervise the delivery of a comprehensive array of AV services, including event support, presentations, lighting, staging, and creative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage, supervise, schedule, train, and evaluate team members.
  • Oversee operational activities.
  • Ensure seamless execution of high-profile events from inception to completion.
  • Lead the team to ensure adequate staffing for events.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule, understanding that this role requires availability beyond standard business hours.
  • Ensure the team upholds inventory standards, promptly reporting and resolving issues.
  • Collaborate closely with event planners, clients, technicians, and facility managers to implement AV components that meet event objectives.
  • Conduct site visits with clients to ascertain their production standards.
  • Coordinate with clients before, during, and after events to ensure proper staffing and make real-time adjustments.
  • Act as a contingency technician when necessary, assisting with equipment setup and teardown.
  • Work with external vendors and labor sources to optimize labor sourcing based on cost, skill level, and availability.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (5+ years).
  • Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role with full responsibility for performance management.
  • Familiarity with information technology systems and network operations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard AV technologies and best practices.
  • Physical ability to climb ladders and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Flexible schedule, including availability for nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism.
  • Demonstrated leadership and effective planning skills.
  • Strong team-oriented approach and customer focus.
