Position Overview:
The project engineering role is pivotal to the success of our external components division.

This position involves analyzing, strategizing, and executing project timelines while effectively addressing any challenges that arise during the process.

This role necessitates regular and direct communication with clients and operational teams. Furthermore, it is essential for establishing protocols for contract assessments and readiness for manufacturing.

This position acts as a liaison between operations and sales, promoting the advancement of projects and diligently working through any issues until they are resolved.


Key Responsibilities:


• Develop and oversee project timelines, coordinating with clients and various departments to ensure the successful delivery of products to external clients.

• Analyze and communicate client requirements through a manufacturing review process.
• Establish and uphold the contract review process, collaborating with operations on the manufacturing review.

• Maintain regular communication with clients regarding project status, challenges, and enhancements throughout the manufacturing cycle.

• Anticipate potential risks and project modifications, proposing or implementing risk mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with external vendors to obtain quotes, issue purchase orders, and manage timelines.
• Formulate a machining supply chain strategy and work towards optimizing and onboarding external vendors for client projects.
• Partner with sales and finance to facilitate new projects and invoicing processes.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of project engineering tools, processes, and training programs by applying lessons learned.

• Monitor and occasionally initiate the movement of parts through the workflow to ensure timely delivery to subsequent processes and to the final client.

• Collaborate with all departments to address non-conformances, engineering change notices, and other unforeseen events.
• Manage and oversee project budgets to ensure delivery within budget constraints.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Sciences, or related fields.
• 5+ years of experience in additive manufacturing or project management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project or similar project management tools.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across departmental teams and with executives.
• Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to execute responsibilities independently with minimal supervision.
• Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience in creating processes from the ground up.
• Ability to take ownership of issues and pursue resolutions diligently.
• Willingness to work extended hours during critical project phases.
• Understanding of the overall aerospace manufacturing process (Additive manufacturing, thermal processing, machining, coating, NDT, mechanical testing, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with AS9100/ISO9001 or equivalent standards (automotive, medical, etc.).
• Experience managing aerospace or automotive projects.
