Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Pastry Chef to join our team at the Garden of the Gods Resort and Club. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading the pastry department and ensuring that our guests receive exceptional dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Supervise and train pastry cooks to ensure high-quality products and exceptional customer service.
    • Develop and implement menus, recipes, and production schedules to meet business needs.
    • Manage inventory, ordering, and supply chain to maintain optimal levels and minimize waste.
  • Food Production and Quality Control
    • Oversee the preparation and presentation of pastries, desserts, and other sweet and savory items.
    • Ensure that all products meet our high standards for quality, taste, and appearance.
    • Conduct regular quality control checks to identify areas for improvement.
  • Customer Service and Relations
    • Provide exceptional customer service to guests, responding to their needs and preferences.
    • Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless service and a positive guest experience.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Administrative and Financial
    • Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to ensure accurate tracking and analysis.
    • Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives to minimize waste and optimize resources.
    • Collaborate with other departments to achieve business objectives and goals.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts or related field.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in pastry management or a related role.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Proven track record of success in pastry management, with a focus on quality, customer service, and team leadership.
    • Strong knowledge of pastry production, including baking, decorating, and presentation.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on attention to detail and quality control.
  • Certifications and Licenses
    • CPR certification.
    • Food Protection Manager Certification.
    • Food Handler Certification.
    • Alcohol Server/Seller Certification.
Working Conditions

The Executive Pastry Chef will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with a focus on attention to detail and quality control. The position requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in a hot kitchen environment.
