Business Developer- International Job Description

Citizens, Inc. is a publicly traded company (NYSE: CIA) that has maintained a listing on the New York Stock Exchange since 2002. We are seeking a highly skilled Business Developer- International to join our team in Austin, TX or Miami (Corporate Headquarters located in the Domain).

Job Summary:

The Business Developer- International will be responsible for developing new business through independent agents, producer networks, and brokers in Latin America. This role involves identifying potential partners, presenting value propositions, and establishing these partners as key revenue sources for the company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and approach potential partners, including independent agents, producer networks, and brokers.
  • Develop and present compelling value propositions to potential partners.
  • Establish new partners as key sources of company revenue.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing partners.
  • Work with internal teams to ensure partners receive the necessary support, training, and marketing resources.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product development, and customer service teams to align strategies and support partner success.
  • Identify non-traditional distribution opportunities throughout Latin America.
  • Analyze market trends to identify key segments to approach and attract new distribution channels.
Requirements:
  • Proven track record in business development within the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic plans to drive business growth and market expansion.
  • Strong relationship management skills to establish and maintain partnerships.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey value propositions and engage partners.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess market trends, identify opportunities, and measure performance.
  • Understanding of cultural nuances and business practices in Latin America.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, preferably in the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Experience working in Latin American markets is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Spanish and English; additional languages spoken in the region are a plus.
