Key Responsibilities

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair operations of the community, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies. Key duties include:

  • Managing scheduled maintenance for essential systems including HVAC, elevators, fire safety equipment, and kitchen appliances.
  • Addressing maintenance requests from residents promptly and effectively.
  • Overseeing the timely maintenance of vacated rooms, including painting and cleaning.
  • Ensuring the upkeep of common areas, including walls, flooring, and woodwork.
  • Training and mentoring maintenance staff to foster a skilled team.
  • Maintaining effective communication with local safety officials and conducting fire safety training for all employees.
  • Assessing and resolving plumbing and electrical issues within the community.
  • Reviewing safety data sheets for hazardous materials and implementing necessary precautions.
  • Evaluating property damage and filing claims as per company policy.
  • Supervising maintenance technicians and building engineers, including task delegation and performance evaluations.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess a high school diploma or GED, along with one to two years of relevant experience or training. A valid state driver's license is required for travel as needed.

Knowledge and Skills

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of maintenance operations, the ability to interpret technical documents, and strong problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements

This role requires physical activity, including standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The Maintenance Supervisor may also need to work evenings or weekends as necessary.
