Position Summary:

We are seeking a full-time Area Operations Manager (AOM) who will play a pivotal role within our project management team. The AOM will be responsible for overseeing daily operations and will serve as a key leader in ensuring safety, quality, schedule adherence, cost management, and overall performance in transportation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily field operations, including resource management, scheduling, prioritization of tasks, issue resolution, and client interactions.
  • Implement and manage the company's safety program, including the development of safety plans, conducting training sessions, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of safety.
  • Develop and maintain work plans for the upkeep of highway and bridge infrastructure.
  • Ensure that transportation assets meet compliance standards as per the maintenance rating program requirements.
  • Supervise personnel and subcontractors to ensure timely and budget-compliant execution of maintenance activities.
  • Guarantee that all services and deliverables align with established standards and reporting requirements.
  • Utilize the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) effectively for managing work orders and quality control.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure adherence to contract specifications.
  • Uphold ethical standards and integrity as outlined in the company's Code of Business Conduct.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the project manager.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in management, technical, or engineering field; Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management preferred. A high school diploma with 8-10 years of relevant supervisory experience is acceptable.
  • A minimum of five years in operations management or supervision, ideally within transportation, construction, engineering, or maintenance sectors.
  • At least fifteen years of overall experience, with a minimum of ten years in supervisory or managerial roles.
  • Familiarity with field operations and construction/maintenance equipment is essential; experience in road and bridge maintenance is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal; bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other common software applications.

Location:

This position primarily operates on-site.

Compensation:

Salary range is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
