Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Personnel Security Specialist I to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the personnel security program for a federal agency. This includes conducting background investigations, reviewing security clearance documentation, and maintaining personnel security files.

Responsibilities

  • Execute e-QIP operations, including initiating government and contractor employee applications and generating reports.
  • Review and analyze security clearance documentation such as SF-85s and SF-86s.
  • Create and meticulously maintain comprehensive Personnel Security Files.
  • Approve or deny User ID forms based on initial background checks for all government and contractor personnel.
  • Process applicant fingerprints using the 3M Cogent system, or comparable systems, including electronic transmission.
  • Process requests for security background reports from a web-based database.
  • Assist in developing, revising, disseminating, and tracking Security Awareness Training materials for cleared personnel.
  • Utilize the National Background Investigations Services (NBIS) System effectively.
  • Provide support for USAccess HSPD-12 Credentialing/Physical Access Control processes.
  • Operate and maintain CCure 9000 and PassagePoint Global experience applications.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of personnel security experience is required.
  • Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Active Top Secret clearance is mandatory.
  • Minimum age of twenty-one years.
  • Experience working with eQIP, Personnel Security Databases such as JPAS, OPM PIPS/CVS, and FPPS.
  • Experience utilizing background investigation web-based databases like CLEAR.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English clearly and concisely, including the ability to create detailed reports.
  • Exhibit courtesy, respect, and impartial enforcement of directives.
  • Possess honesty, integrity, good judgment, courage, alertness, and self-reliance.
  • Ability to interact tactfully and positively with stakeholders while maintaining composure during stressful events.
  • Demonstrate poise, self-confidence, and sound decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations effectively.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply printed rules, directives, and instructions accurately.
  • Maintain a commitment to confidentiality and ethical conduct.
