Job Description

Kaiva Tech, LLC is seeking a Personnel Security Specialist I in the National Capital Region/Arlington VA.

Clearance: Active DoD Secret with eligibility for Top Secret / SCI

Workplace Type: This position is onsite with Situational Telework Options. Please be aware that the workplace type allowed is approved by the client and is subject to change dependent on client needs and expectations.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $75,000.

Summary Overview:

The Personnel Security Specialist I will assist the Government in performing all tasks associated with operating a responsive, courteous, and professional call center to address inquiries from the customer base regarding case status, program information, policies, and procedures and in and out-processing.

Responsibilities:

  • Establishing productive working relationships with the customer base and provide consistent, high quality customer satisfaction and sound business relations.
  • Creating, maintaining, updating, correcting, researching, and reviewing subject records.
  • Providing assistance to customer base, exercising sound judgment and discretion to determine appropriate responses to inquiries.
  • Providing guidance and clarification to customer base on security clearance and investigative requirements and guidelines.
  • Providing assistance and information to Government representatives in support of various level of importance and sensitivity relating to personnel cases.
  • Assisting with evacuation of facilities during emergency.
  • Assisting with various additional tasks as directed by the Program Manager.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated skill and ability to research and analyze personnel files, extract pertinent information, and formulate an accurate and appropriate response in accordance with applicable security regulations and guidelines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge utilizing MS Office.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Recent experience supporting DoD office environment is strongly desired.
  • Experience monitoring compliance with security regulations; providing security guidance, clarification, and interpretation; and investigating, documenting, and developing mitigation plans for violations is highly desired.

Education:

  • High School Degree or Certificate.
  • Security Related Training.

Certifications:

  • Center for Development of Security Excellence (CDSE) Physical, Industrial and Personnel Security courses.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach daily.
  • Ability to lift to 30 pounds and climb ladders occasionally.
  • Ability to walk long distances without assistance and proficiently inspect access-confined spaces.
