Job Title: Personnel Security Specialist IV

Advantage SCI is seeking a highly skilled Personnel Security Specialist IV to support a federal agency personnel security program.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting extensive indices checks, arrest record checks, and other investigative activities to ensure the security clearance process is thorough and accurate.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a Team Lead and coordinate the submission of investigative information.
  • Review and analyze investigative reports and correspondence from the field to ensure conformance to administrative requirements and regulations.
  • Determine inadequacies and transmit additional instruction/leads to the field.
  • Prepare outgoing communications and transmit recommendations with supporting analysis and data.
  • Participate in the formulation of new and revised rules, regulations, guidelines, processes, and procedures in relation to personnel security programs.
  • Provide recommendations and suggestions affecting personnel security program missions.
  • Ensure that Government and applicable personnel are properly appraised of potential security risks/vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct security briefings, including Security Awareness and Hostile Threat.
  • Provide guidance and assist in resolving security issues for current on-board employees.
  • Engage with internal and external customers on personnel security.
Requirements:
  • Current TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility and willingness to pass a security CI polygraph exam.
  • Bachelor's Degree with two (2) years' experience or associate degree with four (4) years' experience.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience developing and writing Reports of Investigation.
  • Eight (8) years of experience in the personnel security investigative or investigative analyst field.
  • Experience interpreting Governmental and commercial database checks.
  • Experience developing investigative reports and identifying security vulnerabilities.
  • Experience conducting and interpreting database checks and credit reports.
  • Experience performing routine office administrative support functions.
  • Demonstrated analytical ability to critically review and analyze investigative reports.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in conducting Federal Government standards for investigations.
  • Possess oral and written communications skills to conduct interviews and security briefings.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of indices systems and record check systems.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Internet use and Microsoft Office software applications.
  • Experience with Federal LE and IC IT systems for conducting automated record checks.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in any field of study.
  • Experience conducting interviews and security briefings.
  • Previous experience in security leadership roles.
  • Strong understanding of security disciplines.
  • Demonstrated understanding of security-related/investigative guidelines.
Working Conditions:
  • Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.
  • Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach.
  • Able to sit, stand, walk, and run.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
