Position Overview
As a Culinary Operations Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the daily culinary functions of our establishment, ensuring adherence to company policies and operational standards. Your leadership will contribute to creating an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support the daily culinary activities, ensuring compliance with established guidelines and staffing levels.
- Maintain a professional image of the kitchen, emphasizing cleanliness, proper attire, and adherence to appearance standards.
- Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality products and services, meeting our guests' expectations.
- Assist in controlling food costs through effective ordering practices, weekly inventory management, and financial report analysis.
- Promote a safe working environment to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries.
- Uphold kitchen organization and cleanliness in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Participate in the recruitment, interviewing, and hiring processes for kitchen staff; provide supervision and motivation to team members.
- Conduct training sessions for new and existing employees, fostering skill development and teamwork.
- Lead by example, mentoring junior staff and promoting a collaborative work environment.
Qualifications:
A high school diploma or GED is required, with culinary arts certifications or related degrees preferred. Candidates should possess:
- 1-2 years of experience in supervising or managing kitchen personnel in a high-volume setting.
- Confidence in culinary skills and the ability to lead a team effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements:
The role requires the ability to:
- Lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Navigate the kitchen safely and efficiently.
- Handle food and kitchen equipment safely.
- Perform tasks that involve bending, stooping, standing, and kneeling.
- Adapt to varying temperature conditions in the kitchen environment.
