Position Overview

The Culinary Supervisor, also known as the Sous Chef, plays a pivotal role in managing the kitchen operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality meals. This position is integral to maintaining the culinary standards and overseeing the kitchen staff's performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and guide all culinary personnel to ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
  • Assist in the procurement of food and supplies while adhering to budgetary constraints.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef in menu planning and the execution of new recipes.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the kitchen to ensure cleanliness and compliance with health regulations.
  • Ensure consistent application of recipe standards to deliver a quality dining experience.
  • Manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and readiness for service.
  • Coordinate with management regarding inventory needs and supply orders.
  • Maintain open communication with team members and management to foster a collaborative environment.
  • Support the onboarding and training of new kitchen staff.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of three years of culinary experience.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Capability to bend, reach, and grasp as needed.
