  • You are based outside of the United States.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Compliance Operations:
    • Policy Development: Assist in crafting, executing, and maintaining compliance policies, procedures, and workflows.
    • Audit Support: Aid the compliance team in managing internal and external audits and regulatory assessments.
    • Risk Management: Contribute to ongoing risk evaluations and enhancements to reduce compliance risks.
    • Regulatory Knowledge: Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards impacting the cryptocurrency and blockchain sectors.
    • Collaboration: Work alongside cross-functional teams, including Legal, Finance, Employee Success, and Client Services to address compliance-related matters.
  • Legal Operations:
    • Legal Team Liaison: Act as the main point of contact for all internal and external inquiries directed to the legal team, ensuring prompt and effective responses.
    • Legal Review Coordination: Collaborate with Engineering, Protocol Services, and Marketing teams to facilitate the legal review process for new product launches and marketing initiatives, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation.
    • Contract Oversight: Manage our contract management system and records associated with our entities.
    • Due Diligence Coordination: Lead the organization of legal and compliance-related due diligence required by auditors and other stakeholders across all CoinList entities.
    • Billing Oversight: Assist in managing our electronic billing system and liaising with various law firms regarding billing issues.
    • Strategic Support: Contribute to strategic initiatives, including offshore expansion and the formation and administration of offshore entities.
    • Research and Special Projects: Conduct research and provide support on various ad hoc legal projects, delivering insights and solutions as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Must be located outside of the United States.
  • Strong organizational and process management skills.
  • Minimum of three years of experience as a paralegal or in a legal/compliance operations role.
  • Experience in a traditional financial institution or law firm focusing on financial services.
  • BA/BS degree preferred.
  • Proficiency with Apple products, GSuite, Slack, and other cloud-based collaboration tools.
  • Proactive, efficient, detail-oriented, entrepreneurial-minded, and capable of working independently.
  • Experience in a startup environment or familiarity with regulations relevant to our business is a plus.
