What You Will Do:

  • Compliance Operations
    • Policy Development and Implementation: Aid in the creation, execution, and upkeep of compliance policies, procedures, and workflows.
    • Audit and Examination Support: Assist the compliance team in managing both internal and external audits and regulatory reviews.
    • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Contribute to ongoing risk evaluations and enhancements to minimize compliance risks.
    • Regulatory Awareness: Keep abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices impacting the cryptocurrency and blockchain sectors.
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside various teams, including Legal, Finance, Employee Success, and Client Services, to address compliance-related matters.
  • Legal Operations
    • Legal Team Point of Contact: Act as the main liaison for all internal and external inquiries directed to the legal team, ensuring prompt and effective responses.
    • Legal Review Process: Collaborate closely with Engineering, Protocol Services, and Marketing teams to facilitate the legal review for new product launches and marketing initiatives, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation.
    • Contract Management: Oversee our contract management system and maintain records related to our entities.
    • Due Diligence Coordination: Lead the organization of legal and compliance-related due diligence required by auditors and other stakeholders across all CoinList entities.
    • Billing Management: Support the management of our electronic billing system and liaise with various law firms regarding billing issues.
    • Strategic and Operational Support: Assist in strategic initiatives, including offshore expansion and the formation and administration of offshore entities.
    • Research and Ad Hoc Projects: Conduct research and provide assistance on various ad hoc legal projects, delivering insights and solutions as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Candidate must be located outside of the United States.
  • Strong organizational and process management capabilities.
  • Three years of experience as a paralegal or in a legal/compliance operations role.
  • Experience in a traditional financial institution or law firm focusing on financial services.
  • BA/BS preferred.
  • Proficiency with Apple products, GSuite, Slack, and other cloud-based collaboration tools.
  • Proactive, efficient, detail-oriented, entrepreneurial-minded, and capable of working independently.
  • Additional points for experience in a startup or familiarity with regulations relevant to our business.
