Position Overview:
Our Ontario, California office is seeking a seasoned Project Engineer to enhance our Transportation Infrastructure team. In this pivotal role, you will engage in a diverse range of engineering responsibilities for road and highway initiatives, encompassing feasibility assessments, preliminary engineering, final design, report generation, and the creation of construction contract documents.

This position will primarily focus on projects in Southern California, with the potential for involvement in other state regions as necessary. Enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work environment, allowing you to work from home 2-3 days a week.

Key Responsibilities:
- Execute various roadway engineering tasks, including geometric design, engineering analyses, and project plan development.
- Utilize advanced software tools such as Microstation and AutoCAD.
- Prepare comprehensive engineering design plans, technical reports, specifications, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure successful project execution and delivery.
- Facilitate communication and coordination with internal teams and external clients/agencies.
- Mentor and supervise junior engineers on project assignments.
- Participate in project meetings and conduct site visits and field inspections as required.

Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in roadway engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration is mandatory; candidates with a PE from another state must obtain a California PE license within one year of hire.
- Familiarity with Caltrans projects and knowledge of Caltrans standards, policies, and manuals is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to apply advanced engineering techniques and effectively solve complex engineering challenges.

Preferred Skills:
- Extensive experience supporting major road and highway projects for state DOTs.
- Excellent verbal communication abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with various engineering and design teams.
- A commitment to knowledge sharing and continuous learning to enhance professional skills.

Salary Range:
$92,000 - $161,400.00
