Position Overview:
Our Ontario, California office is seeking a seasoned Project Engineer to enhance our Transportation Infrastructure team. In this pivotal role, you will engage in a broad spectrum of engineering activities for road and highway initiatives, encompassing feasibility assessments, preliminary engineering, final design, report generation, and the formulation of construction contract documents.

This position supports projects primarily in Southern California, with potential involvement in other regions as necessary. We offer a hybrid work model, allowing for remote work 2-3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:
- Execute a variety of roadway engineering functions, including geometric design, engineering analysis, and project plan formulation.
- Demonstrate proficiency in MicroStation and AutoCAD.
- Develop engineering design plans, perform engineering calculations, prepare technical reports, specifications, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimations.
- Assist project managers in executing and delivering project tasks.
- Facilitate communication and coordination with internal teams and external clients/agencies.
- Potentially lead and mentor junior engineers on similar assignments.
- Participate in project meetings and conduct site visits and field inspections as required.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in roadway-related fields.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration is mandatory; if licensed in another state, obtaining a California PE license within one year of hire is expected.
- Familiarity with Caltrans projects and knowledge of Caltrans standards, policies, and manuals is highly preferred.
- Proficient in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to apply advanced engineering techniques and resolve complex engineering challenges.

- A solid foundation of experience supporting major road and highway projects for state DOT-related work.
- Exceptional verbal communication abilities.
- Capability to effectively interface with various engineering and design teams.
- Strong aptitude for knowledge sharing and continuous learning to enhance skills.

Salary Range:
