Core Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the management, planning, scheduling, and financial oversight of various municipal engineering projects and team members.
  • Provide technical guidance and design evaluations for project teams, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Collaborate with clients and team members to define project goals and develop comprehensive project proposals.
  • Participate in regular site meetings with clients, public entities, and other consultants.
  • Manage project integrity by approving modifications in design, specifications, budget, and timelines aligned with project goals.
  • Offer mentorship and training to team members, including the delegation of responsibilities and tasks.
  • Ensure quality of work by reviewing designs, client specifications, and performance standards, providing necessary feedback regarding accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor project finances, funding, schedules, design activities, and modifications.
  • Address project-related technical challenges and personnel matters promptly.
  • Seek new client opportunities while nurturing existing client relationships.
  • Ensure timely completion of staff performance evaluations, time tracking, invoicing, and deliverables in accordance with WestLAND Group standards.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Project Management within the municipal engineering sector, demonstrating progressive responsibility.
  • Preferred: Licensed as an Engineer in Training (EIT).
  • Highly desired: Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in California.
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Exceptional technical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to engage with current and prospective clients effectively.
  • Capability to prepare proposals and manage project budgets, timelines, and scopes.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in managing Capital Improvement Projects for public entities.
